The fundamental basis of all PROUD’s activities is the belief that people are free and equal, in both dignity and rights, without any differences. The association’s vision is of a Czech society in which sexual orientation and identity are not crucial factors in determining the quality of human life.

Monitoring Implementation of the Committee of Ministers' Recommendation
Thanks to the ILGA Europe support, PROUD has been monitoring the Implementation of the Council of Europe recommendations concerning fight against discrimination based on sexual orientation (more info)
The Council of Europe is active in the field of parenting, protection against discrimination in employment, access to health care, housing, hate crime assaults, homophobia in sports, the rights of transsexuals, the rights of asylum seekers, and so on.
PROUD will provide (at the end of August 2012) a detailed report on how the Czech Republic follows and fulfills the recommendations and will map the critical gaps in fulfilling the rights of LGBT people.
PROUD, following the Council of Europe recommendations, has decided to pay attention to two major LGBT issues:
1) parental rights of same-sex partners
PROUD aims to change the situation of same-sex families, although the number of same-sex families in the CR is increasing, the state refuses to admit rights of such families, moreover, requires more duties from them.
2/ rights of transexual people
PROUD wants to achieve some legislative changes, in particular castration, sterilization or divorce not to be the legal condition for administrative sex change.
